Job Description

Technical Writer/Editor II | Poway, CA, United States | Hybrid This employer is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. They are seeking a skilled Technical Writer/Editor to join their team and contribute to the development of critical documentation. The Role • Research, document, and develop detailed operator, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures, checklists, technical specifications, and alert bulletins. • Create training materials and other procedural documentation to clearly and effectively communicate technical information. • Collaborate with technical experts and analyze engineering drawings, test procedures, and design specifications to gather information. • Ensure all documentation adheres to requested specifications, contractual requirements, and includes necessary illustrations or graphic representations. • Coordinate technical document reviews, obtain approval signatures, and manage security classification processes. • Plan, coordinate, and lead small teams on documentation projects. What You'll Need • Associate's degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience. • Three or more years of progressive experience in a technical field, with a strong understanding of technical writing/editing principles. • Demonstrated knowledge of technical manuals and documentation development, as well as computer-based tools for documentation production. • Excellent grasp of new concepts, strong organizational skills, and the ability to identify issues and deviations from accepted practices. • Basic analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. • Ability to work independently, lead in a team environment, and maintain confidentiality.
