Job Description

One of our clients is urgently looking for a Jr. Data Center Technician (L1).

 

 

Positions: 10 (1-3 years of experience)

Hourly: $30 - $35 per hour (1099/C2C)

Location: Olive Branch, MS

Duration: 1-2 months (could be extended for another 2-3 months)

 

 

Scope of Work

Responsibilities

  • Connect racks to designated test drops.
  • Execute client-provided scripts and procedures.
  • Follow written work instructions.
  • Communicate with the client''s Test Engineers (TEs).
  • Report status, issues, and test results.
  • Escalate problems to client engineering staff.
  • Follow site safety and security requirements.

 

 

Out of Scope

Technicians are not responsible for:

  • Network troubleshooting beyond basic connectivity checks.
  • Repairing servers, racks, or networking equipment.
  • Diagnosing hardware failures.
  • Root cause analysis.
  • Engineering decisions.
  • Writing or modifying scripts.
  • Configuring switches, routers, or servers unless specifically requested.
  • Test plan creation.
  • Quality assurance ownership.
  • Equipment procurement.
  • Project management beyond technician coordination.
  • Providing tools or specialized test equipment unless agreed upon.
  • Overtime, weekends, or shift extensions unless approved.
  • Travel

 

Assumptions

  • Client provides all hardware, software, accounts, badges, and access.
  • Client provides documented procedures.
  • Client provides TE supervision and escalation contacts.
  • Hours over 40/week are billed at the agreed overtime rate.
  • Minimum 8-hour daily billing.
  • Billing begins once technicians are onsite and available.
  • Changes in headcount or schedule require advance notice.
