Job Description

English Teacher – Lambeth Secondary School

A highly reputable secondary school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join their thriving English department on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced or Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) to contribute to a dynamic learning environment and inspire students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons to KS3, KS4, and KS5 students, differentiating effectively to cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Develop and implement innovative lesson plans in line with the national curriculum and school policies.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative methods, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the English department and across the school to share best practices and enhance teaching strategies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current educational research and pedagogical approaches in English teaching.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through participation in extra-curricular activities and departmental initiatives.

Candidate Profile:

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in English or a related field.
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the English curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Exhibit excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Be committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
