Are you an experienced Engineering Project Manager with a background in manufacturing or engineering? Do you enjoy coordinating cross-functional teams, driving projects from concept through to implementation, and delivering tangible improvements across a manufacturing environment?We're working with a growing engineering and manufacturing business looking to appoint an Engineering Project Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of Manufacturing Engineering projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing technical understanding with strong project leadership, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
The RoleWorking closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain and Design teams, you'll take ownership of projects ranging from New Product Introduction (NPI) and process improvements through to capacity expansion, equipment implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.You'll be responsible for planning, coordinating and driving projects through every stage of the lifecycle while managing stakeholders, mitigating risks and ensuring successful delivery.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead Manufacturing Engineering projects from concept through to completion.Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, risks and resource requirements.Coordinate activities across Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain and other business functions.Manage project progress, identify risks and implement recovery plans where required.Support New Product Introduction (NPI), including manufacturing readiness, production trials and industrialisation activities.Coordinate process improvement, yield improvement, capacity expansion and cost reduction projects.Facilitate project meetings and communicate progress to stakeholders at all levels.Produce project dashboards, RAID logs, action trackers and status reports.Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support Lean Manufacturing activities.Ensure projects are delivered in line with business objectives and governance processes.
About YouYou'll be an organised and proactive Project Manager who is comfortable working in a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment and enjoys bringing multiple teams together to achieve successful project outcomes.You'll ideally have:Experience managing engineering, manufacturing or technical projects.Strong project planning and organisational skills.Experience coordinating cross-functional teams.Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Project planning tools.A recognised Engineering, Manufacturing or Project Management qualification (Degree, HNC/HND, Apprenticeship or equivalent).
Experience within manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, defence or other highly regulated industries would be advantageous, along with exposure to:New Product Introduction (NPI)Manufacturing Engineering processesLean Manufacturing and Continuous ImprovementERP/MRP systemsMicrosoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet or similar project management software
