The AEGIS program at Leidos is seeking a customer‑focused, mission‑driven Technical Manager to join our team of highly skilled professionals supporting NASA operations. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient work environments across a variety of technical and mission‑essential activities. You will collaborate daily with motivated engineering and operations personnel in a collegial, team‑oriented environment while providing expert oversight in environmental compliance, occupational health, safety programs, and facility risk mitigation. Your responsibilities include driving safety initiatives, conducting hazard and compliance assessments, supporting launch processing activities, and partnering with NASA customers to maintain the highest standards of workplace safety and mission readiness. You will also contribute to the strategic direction and continuous improvement of safety performance across all supported areas.
This position requires a results‑oriented individual with exceptional communication, analytical, and presentation skills to help deliver both program‑level and customer‑facing safety metrics, reporting, and analysis.

Primary Responsibilities:
Lead day‑to‑day safety oversight, including onsite work observations, hazard identification, and launch processing safety support.
Demonstrate operational agility by quickly responding to active operational requirements and providing efficient and effective executable work plans.
Review work orders and maintenance requests to identify safety risks and ensure controls are in place prior to task execution.
Conduct regular meetings and conversations with customers regarding required work status, new project work, and real-time system situations, as necessary to support AEGIS contract requirements and provide technical advice/guidance as requested.
Create, oversee, and manage system- and operations-specific training for technical team members. Provide remedial/additional training opportunities as required.
Serve in additional management duty roles to fulfill contractual operations and maintenance requirements in support of AEGIS and NASA teams.
Conduct incident and injury investigations and drive corrective and preventive actions to reduce risk and prevent recurrence.
Perform annual and quarterly facility safety inspections and maintain required OSHA safety records, including OSHA 300 logs.
Participate in NASA safety groups, environmental partnering teams, and internal and external audits.
Provide safety support for Verification & Validation activities on communication systems as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related technical discipline, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications, including Excel, Word, Power Point and Project.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver concise safety findings, reports, and briefings to customers and leadership.
Ability to successfully work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and mission support teams in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment.
Strong leadership skills with proven experience in managing diverse operational and technical roles.
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety hazard controls, and workplace risk‑assessment practices.
Ability to conduct inspections, investigations, and assessments with strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
Clearance requirements:
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
Preferred Qualifications:
Practical experience in technical operations environment with focus on network and communications systems.
Desired Certifications / Training:
OSHA 30/40 hour.
Network Administration certifications: CCNA, A+/Net+/Sec+.
Training and experience in Agile Methodology project management approach.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
