Software Engineer - Herndon, VA with Security Clearance

Position Description & Qualifications The Army PPB BOS program is seeking a Software Engineer to deliver business intelligence solutions and to develop applications within a cloud-based environment. Serco supports the US Army as the prime for PPB BBOS and consists of multiple managed cloud environments and numerous hosted data, applications, and processes that enable Army Planning, Programming and Budgeting (PPB) processes to develop the Army Future Years Defense Program (FYDP). Our team performs administration, maintenance, and improvement of IT systems that collect POM, Budget Estimate Submission (BES) and President's Budget resources data deemed necessary to accomplish the Department's mission. As a Software Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work within the AWS GovCloud and Commercial Cloud environments. In this role, you will: * Apply knowledge of AWS operations, including services like EC2, S3, VPC, ELB, Auto Scaling Groups, Route 53, IAM, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, Lambda, SNS, and RDS. * Develop Business Intelligence reports using Tableau and other tools * Design, develop, implement, and maintain applications and systems * Document, plan, and manage application activities To be successful in this role, you will have: * An active secret security clearance * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other relevant field * 2 years of IT experience * Ability to design, develop, implement, and maintain applications and systems * Knowledge of current technologies and software * Understanding of software development lifecycle processes * Ability to plan, manage, and document application activities * Understanding of Business Intelligence (Tableau) and AWS skills (Lambda, etc.) * Familiarity with PPB BOS Business Processes * The ability to travel up to 10% of the time Company Overview Serco Inc.
