This individual will apply in depth analytical and problem-solving skills, a deep understanding of information architecture and user psychology, and a keen eye for detail to deliver high-quality design solutions. The UX Designer will also communicate design concepts, advocate for user needs, and manage multiple priorities will help drive the success of our digital initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver user-centered digital experiences across web and mobile platforms using UX and interaction design best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle, including both waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using industry-standard design software and wireframe tools.
- Apply responsive web design principles and UI frameworks to ensure accessibility and consistency across devices.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and iterate on solutions.
- Translate complex concepts into clear, intuitive, and visually engaging user interfaces.
- Advocate for user needs and tell a compelling, user-centered story to stakeholders.
- Manage time effectively across multiple projects and competing priorities, meeting deadlines and maintaining accountability for deliverables.
- Apply knowledge of information architecture, gestalt principles, and user psychology to enhance user experience.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in user experience (UX) or interaction design, responsive web design, and UI frameworks.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and large-scale software development lifecycles, including waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Extensive knowledge of wireframe tools and design software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and sell design ideas.
- Strong understanding of information design/architecture, gestalt principles, and user psychology.
- Proficiency in graphic design, motion graphics, digital art, typography, color, layout, and awareness of materials/textures.
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus.
- Excellent client relationship skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Behavioral Science, Experience Design, or a related field.
Work Location:
This position will be a hybrid work schedule (3 days a week in office) at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000-square-foot technology campus in Midvale, Utah. Located on the former Sharon Steel Mill superfund site, the sustainably built campus is the company's primary technology and operations center.
