Job Description

Role: Built Asset Security Advisor

Location: Salisbury - Porton Down (Hybrid – 2-3 days per week onsite)

Contract: 12 months

IR35: In Scope


Client is looking for an experienced Built Asset Security Advisor / Security Engineer / Project Security Advisor to support the delivery of security engineering across high-security government facilities. The role focuses on ensuring protective security is designed into complex infrastructure projects, including secure laboratories and other sensitive environments.


Key Experience Required

  • Extensive experience in security engineering, protective security or built asset security within the built environment.
  • Experience working on high-security, regulated or critical infrastructure facilities .
  • Strong knowledge of physical, technical and operational security principles.
  • Experience conducting security risk assessments, threat and vulnerability assessments, and security assurance .
  • Ability to develop and review security strategies, technical specifications and assurance documentation .
  • Experience working alongside architects, engineers and project teams to embed security throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) , perimeter security and protective security measures.
  • Understanding of Schedule 5 of the Anti-Terrorism, Crime and Security Act 2001 , ISO 19650-5 , ISO 23234 , and the NPSA Surreptitious Threat Mitigation Process .
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex security requirements.
