Job Description

Senior Human Resources / Employee Relations

What You Will Do

As a key Human Resources business partner, you will provide strategic and hands-on HR support to site leadership and employees, with a strong focus on employee relations, labor relations, compliance, investigations, and organizational effectiveness.

  • Represent the Company in legal and binding arbitrations, appeals boards, open-door processes, and other formal dispute-resolution proceedings involving employees.

  • Lead complex employment, employee relations, and compliance investigations from initiation through resolution, ensuring thorough, objective, and well-documented outcomes.

  • Partner with HR and Operations leadership to provide guidance on employee relations, labor relations, HR policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and resource to leaders and HR team members, providing coaching, mentoring, and guidance on complex employee matters.

  • Partner with leaders on performance management, ensuring consistent application of Company policies and procedures while providing coaching and guidance on performance improvement.

  • Support leadership in developing effective talent pipelines and succession plans to strengthen organizational capability and workforce continuity.

  • Lead and implement HR initiatives, projects, and process improvements that support business objectives, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness, and change management.

  • Coach and advise stakeholders throughout organizational change initiatives, helping leaders and employees successfully navigate evolving business needs.

  • Maintain the confidentiality, security, and integrity of employee personnel records and sensitive compensation information.

  • Implement and support HR strategies, processes, programs, and systems across key areas including staffing, employee relations, labor relations, performance management, training and development, and employee engagement.

  • Advise leaders and employees on Company policies, values, HR programs, and employment practices while monitoring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Analyze HR and workforce data, including turnover, timekeeping, overtime, and other workforce metrics, to identify trends, recommend appropriate actions, and support workforce planning and forecasting.

  • Lead initiatives and projects through completion while effectively managing competing priorities and stakeholders.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What You Bring

Education & Experience

Candidates must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED and 10 years of related industrial or manufacturing employee relations experience, including at least 3 years of HR Generalist experience.

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of professional Human Resources experience, including at least 2 years of HR Generalist experience; OR

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related industrial or manufacturing employee relations experience, including at least 3 years of HR Generalist experience; OR

  • Master's degree and 3 years of professional Human Resources experience, including at least 2 years of HR Generalist experience; OR

  • Master's degree and 4 years of related industrial or manufacturing employee relations experience, including at least 3 years of HR Generalist experience.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of business operations from both strategic and tactical perspectives.

  • Broad knowledge and practical experience across core HR disciplines, including staffing, employee relations, labor relations, performance management, leadership development, training and development, and compliance.

  • Demonstrated experience working within formal dispute-resolution processes, including arbitration or similar proceedings.

  • Proven ability to independently lead complex workplace investigations from intake through resolution.

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations matters with sound judgment and appropriate discretion.

  • Ability to assess complex workplace situations, identify appropriate resources, and develop practical solutions.

  • Proven project leadership skills with the ability to drive initiatives through successful completion.

  • Strong conflict-resolution skills and the ability to navigate sensitive workplace issues effectively.

  • Demonstrated courage and sound judgment when making difficult decisions and delivering challenging messages with professionalism, poise, and diplomacy.

  • Ability to coach, influence, and advise leaders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong consultative and collaborative approach, with the ability to build trusted and credible relationships with business partners.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees and leaders at all levels.

  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment and navigate ambiguity and changing business conditions.

  • Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Strong leadership presence, accountability, adaptability, and commitment to developing others and fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

  • PHR or SPHR certification.

  • Experience in mining, manufacturing, heavy industrial, or similarly complex operational environments.

  • Experience independently leading formal dispute-resolution processes, including arbitrations.

  • Experience supporting a 24/7 operational environment.

  • Experience working in a unionized or labor-relations environment.

What We Offer You

The estimated annual base salary range for this role is $87,500 $120,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors.

This position may also be eligible for discretionary and incentive compensation based on Company and individual performance. Additional details will be provided during the hiring process.
