Job Description

L2 Hardware Engineer - EO

The Hardware Engineer supports the Engineering Lead by providing design assurance and engineering oversight for system-level hardware across mission and support systems. The role focuses on integration, verification and validation (V&V), and ensuring compliance with regulatory and Commonwealth requirements within a complex, agile Defence environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to technical architecture and specifications
  • Support test planning and system integration
  • Manage technical risks and contribute to design reviews and program planning
  • Engage with stakeholders across government and contractor organisations
  • Support HF Radar programs and ensure system performance requirements are met
Key Duties
  • Provide design assurance for system-level hardware, including integration and V&V activities
  • Support development, review, and agreement of technical specifications and lifecycle documents
  • Contribute to system architecture and technical design to meet capability needs
  • Assist in test planning, development of procedures, and execution support
  • Ensure system designs meet performance, safety, and security requirements
  • Identify and manage technical risks, contributing to design reviews and program planning
  • Engage and collaborate with stakeholders across Commonwealth, contractors, and partner organisations
  • Support HF Radar program delivery, including verification of system performance
  • Contribute to integrated engineering schedules and program coordination
  • Maintain compliance with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices
Essential Requirements
  • Eligible to access US Export Controlled (ITAR) information
  • Tertiary engineering qualification
  • Experience working in complex acquisition or sustainment environments
Desirable Requirements
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills

Salary Package (including super) range depending on experience.

Required Security Clearance Level: NV1 minimum.

Location: Adelaide.

Weekly Hours: 40.
