Martech Engineer

Job Type: Contract (6+ Months)

Location: Remote (USA)

 

About the Role

InvestM Technology is seeking an experienced Martech Engineer for a high-impact engagement supporting a leading enterprise retail client undergoing a major Marketing Technology transformation.

 

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy building scalable marketing technology platforms, integrating modern Martech solutions, and developing production-grade services that power personalized customer engagement across email, SMS, and push notification channels.

 

You'll join a senior engineering team working in an Agile, continuous-delivery environment, partnering closely with product and marketing teams to deliver scalable platform capabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, and maintain email, SMS, and push notification infrastructure using enterprise Martech platforms.
  • Develop production-grade activation services, audience ingestion pipelines, template management, and campaign-triggering capabilities.
  • Design and implement API integrations across Martech platforms using REST APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, and event-driven architectures.
  • Connect CDP and CRM data sources to enable dynamic personalization and targeted customer experiences.
  • Support platform modernization initiatives and improve the overall marketing technology ecosystem.
  • Monitor platform health, troubleshoot production issues, and maintain end-to-end system reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and marketing stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous deployment and sprint-based delivery.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on engineering experience with Marketing Technology platforms.
  • Strong software engineering background with experience building APIs, services, integrations, and automation.
  • Experience integrating CDPs such as Amperity or Segment into marketing platforms.
  • Cloud development experience (Google Cloud Platform preferred, Azure acceptable).
  • Retail or eCommerce industry experience.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

 

Strong knowledge of: REST APIs; GraphQL; Webhooks; Event-driven architecture

Experience with one or more of the following:

  1. Zeta OMP
  2. Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC)
  3. Braze
  4. Attentive
  5. Bluecore
  6. Similar ESP/SMS marketing platforms

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with feature flagging or A/B testing platforms.
  • Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, or similar event-streaming technologies.
  • Exposure to LLM APIs, Agentic AI workflows, or Model Context Protocol (MCP).
  • Experience supporting large-scale platform modernization initiatives.
