Product Owner, Digital Product Management - Client Authentication || Hybrid - Austin, TX
Lead the strategy and execution of authentication products that enhance client experiences while reducing fraud risk. As a Product Owner, you will partner with engineering, UX, security, compliance, risk, and business stakeholders to define and deliver secure, user-friendly authentication solutions across Schwab's digital channels.
You will drive product innovation by evaluating emerging authentication technologies, shaping authentication roadmaps, and improving identity and access management experiences for clients and internal partners.

Product Owner, Digital Product Management - Client Authentication || Hybrid - Austin, TX
Lead the strategy and execution of authentication products that enhance client experiences while reducing fraud risk. As a Product Owner, you will partner with engineering, UX, security, compliance, risk, and business stakeholders to define and deliver secure, user-friendly authentication solutions across Schwab's digital channels.
You will drive product innovation by evaluating emerging authentication technologies, shaping authentication roadmaps, and improving identity and access management experiences for clients and internal partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and manage the authentication product roadmap, aligning priorities with business objectives and client needs.
- Lead product discovery efforts, collaborating with UX, engineering, and business teams to validate solutions through research and experimentation.
- Create and prioritize user stories, define acceptance criteria, and partner with Agile teams to deliver high-quality features.
- Use customer insights, analytics, and user research to continuously improve authentication journeys and login experiences.
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize authentication, fraud prevention, and identity management capabilities.
- Partner with vendors to support platform enhancements, product upgrades, and strategic roadmap planning.
- Identify security, compliance, and operational risks, recommending and implementing appropriate controls and mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate across channels and product teams to design and deploy secure identity and authentication processes.
- Develop release plans, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs/KBIs), and drive operational excellence.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships through effective communication, influence, and collaboration.
- Support internal teams and client escalations related to authentication and identity management solutions.
- Assess security technologies and contribute to vendor evaluations and contract discussions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Product management experience in authentication, fraud prevention, digital identity, cybersecurity, or online security.
- Experience with federated identity and Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional teams and driving outcomes.
- Experience with Agile product development methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail.
- Experience leveraging user testing, experimentation, and competitive analysis to inform product decisions.
- Knowledge of OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and modern identity protocols.
- Experience within financial services or highly regulated industries.
- Passion for digital security, identity management, and client experience innovation.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
