Position Overview

The Michigan Gaming Control Board is seeking an experienced Software Test Analyst 3 to support Quality Assurance activities for the LAMBS modernization project.

The project focuses on modernizing legacy desktop applications by transitioning from technologies such as VB6 and .NET 3.5 to a modern web-based platform.

The Test Analyst will support the Quality Assurance team, coordinate with business test representatives, identify and escalate critical testing issues, and ensure applications meet functional and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Testing

• Develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts.

• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and user acceptance testing.

• Review business and technical requirements to ensure they are clear, complete, and testable.

• Create and maintain test data and validate application results.

• Support testing of web-based applications.

Defect Management

• Identify, document, track, and retest application defects.

• Work closely with developers and business teams to resolve defects.

• Escalate critical testing issues when necessary.

• Provide testing status, risks, issues, and recommendations to project teams and management.

Test Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate testing activities across projects.

• Participate in requirements reviews, design sessions, project meetings, and system walkthroughs.

• Maintain QA documentation, testing evidence, defect logs, and project documentation.

• Prepare reports, presentations, and meeting minutes related to QA activities.

• Support production validation, releases, upgrades, and change-management activities.

Process Improvement & Support

• Recommend improvements to QA processes, testing methodologies, tools, and automation opportunities.

• Provide technical guidance to junior QA analysts and team members.

• Troubleshoot reported application issues and provide ongoing application support.

• Work with developers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, vendors, and clients to ensure quality requirements are met.

• Ensure testing activities follow organizational security, development, documentation, and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience with DevSecOps practices and technologies.

• Experience using Microsoft DevOps for managing test cases and test plans.

• Experience working with customers to develop acceptance criteria supporting existing user concepts.

• Bachelor's degree required.
