Job Description

Job Role: Senior Product Manager

Location: San Francisco, CA (Onsite Work)

Job Time: Full-Time OR W2 Contract

 About the Role

·      Client is looking for a Senior Product Manager to own product backlog and requirements for a client-facing software delivery engagement.

·      You''''ll work directly with business stakeholders to translate goals into a prioritized backlog, partner with engineering and design to ship features, and represent the product roadmap to leadership and client stakeholders.

·      This is a hands-on, individual-contributor role for someone who is comfortable owning outcomes end to end — not just writing tickets.

·      This role is based on site in the United States and works closely with a distributed, cross-functional engineering and design team.

·      You''''ll be the primary point of contact for requirements and prioritization, collaborating regularly with teammates across different cultural backgrounds and time zones, so clear, proactive communication matters as much as product judgment.

·      Own and continuously groom the product backlog:  Write clear epics and user stories, define acceptance criteria, and prioritize based on business value, technical dependencies, and stakeholder input.

·      Run discovery with business and end-user stakeholders to convert ambiguous requirements into a scoped, sequenced set of deliverables.

·      Partner with engineering and design leads on sprint planning, story refinement, and trade-off decisions between scope, timeline, and quality.

·      Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) with client or business-side product owners, and manage the feedback loop back into the backlog.

·      Present roadmap, progress, and key decisions to stakeholder and advisory groups on a recurring cadence (e.g., monthly steering or advisory reviews).

·      Make and document scope decisions, including what''''s in/out of a given release, and escalate trade-offs that need executive input.

·      Maintain product documentation — requirements, decision logs, and release notes — so scope and rationale are traceable over time.

·      Coordinate day-to-day with distributed engineering, design, and delivery teammates across multiple time zones, adjusting meeting cadence and communication style to keep everyone aligned.

What We''''re Looking For

·      6–10 years of experience in product management, with at least 3+ years owning a backlog for a live software product or platform.

·      Track record of translating vague or conflicting stakeholder input into a prioritized, sequenced backlog.

·      Comfortable running discovery and requirements sessions directly with non-technical business stakeholders.

·      Experience working with Agile/Scrum delivery teams; fluent in tools like Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar for backlog and sprint management.

·      Strong written and verbal communication — able to present the same update to an engineering team and to a steering committee, adjusting depth and framing appropriately.

·      Experience coordinating UAT or client sign-off processes for feature releases.

·      Comfortable making prioritization calls under ambiguity and defending them with data or clear reasoning.

·      Comfortable working with cross-cultural, distributed teams and flexible with overlapping meeting hours across time zones.

·      Bachelor''''s degree in a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Thanks!
