Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer/SDET with strong experience in Playwright and Karate to support UI, API, and end-to-end automation testing. The candidate will develop robust automation frameworks and work closely with development and product teams to ensure high-quality software releases.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated UI test scripts using Playwright.
• Build and maintain API automation frameworks using Karate.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Automate REST API and microservices testing.
• Validate API responses, request/response payloads, status codes, and backend data.
• Develop reusable automation components and test utilities.
• Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines.
• Execute automated tests and analyze failures.
• Perform database/backend validation using SQL.
• Collaborate with developers and business teams to identify and resolve defects.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Maintain test cases, automation documentation, and test execution reports.

Required Skills

• Strong QA Automation/SDET experience.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright.
• Strong experience with Karate / Karate DSL for API automation.
• Experience with Java.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and microservices testing.
• Experience with UI, API, integration, and regression testing.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong knowledge of Git.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with SQL/database validation.

Preferred

• Experience with Selenium.
• Experience testing microservices architecture.
• Cloud experience AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Postman or similar API testing tools.
• Experience with Kafka/event-driven applications.
• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch.

Must Have: Playwright + Karate + Java + API Automation + REST/Microservices
