Job Description

Appointment Setter / Business Development Representative

Talent Advantage Group (TAG) is a boutique staffing and recruiting firm specializing in connecting companies with high-quality talent across IT, Engineering, Accounting & Finance, Manufacturing, and other professional disciplines.

We are looking for a motivated, persistent, and personable Appointment Setter / Business Development Representative to help grow our client base. This position is focused on outbound prospecting and scheduling qualified meetings with companies that have current or potential staffing and recruiting needs.

You do not need to close the sale. Your primary responsibility is to identify prospective clients, connect with the appropriate decision-makers, generate interest in TAG's staffing services, and schedule meetings for the owner to take from there.

What You'll Do

  • Make outbound calls to prospective clients to introduce Talent Advantage Group and our staffing/recruiting services.
  • Identify and connect with key decision-makers, including Hiring Managers, HR leaders, Talent Acquisition professionals, Operations leaders, IT leaders, Engineering leaders, and company executives.
  • Ask effective discovery questions to uncover current or upcoming hiring needs.
  • Generate interest and clearly communicate TAG's value proposition.
  • Schedule qualified introductory meetings for the owner.
  • Conduct consistent follow-up with prospects who are not ready to meet immediately.
  • Prospect into targeted companies and industries to identify new business opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of calls, conversations, follow-ups, and scheduled appointments in the CRM.
  • Partner closely with the owner to communicate prospect feedback, opportunities, and market intelligence.
  • Consistently work toward weekly and monthly activity and appointment-setting goals.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in appointment setting, outbound sales, business development, lead generation, or cold calling strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls and speaking with business professionals.
  • Confident and professional phone presence.
  • Persistent and comfortable hearing "no" without becoming discouraged.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and have natural conversations rather than simply reading from a script.
  • Strong listening skills and ability to recognize potential business opportunities.
  • Organized and disciplined with follow-up.
  • Comfortable working independently and being accountable for measurable results.
  • Staffing or recruiting industry experience is a plus, but not required.

What Success Looks Like

The goal of this position is simple: create qualified conversations and put meetings on the calendar.

A successful person in this role will consistently identify companies that could benefit from TAG's recruiting services, reach the appropriate decision-makers, create enough interest to start a conversation, and schedule quality meetings for the owner.

We are looking for someone who is hungry, competitive, resilient, personable, and not afraid to pick up the phone.
