The OpportunityOur Digital & Technology Services Directorate is searching for someone who understands the importance of delivering high quality tech support, whilst being proactive in their position and finding new ways to improve service systems.
The primary objective of this role is to ensure the organisation's business applications, data systems, and integrations are reliable, secure, and well supported to meet operational needs.
The IT Application Support Engineer provides technical support, troubleshooting, and system administration services while working closely with stakeholders to resolve issues, improve processes, and enhance the user experience.
The role also contributes to the successful implementation of new digital solutions, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and helps maintain compliance with organisational and security standards.
Key responsibilities- Provide Level 2 support with some Level 3 troubleshooting and vendor escalation for enterprise and Software Service applications, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
- Manage incidents, service requests and problems in accordance with ITIL processes and service level targets, and contribute to major incident response activities when required.
- Ensure supported applications comply with organisational security, governance and operational standards while contributing to digital transformation initiatives.
- Plan, test and implement application changes, upgrades, patches and releases through established Change Management processes.
- Coordinate with software vendors and service providers to resolve issues and manage escalations in line with SLAs.
- Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise applications and SaaS platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and issue resolution.
- Experience supporting application integrations, data quality and SQL-based data investigation.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change and Service Request Management.
- Experience with application testing, upgrades, releases and change implementation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, customer service and communication skills.
- Proven ability to prioritise workloads, manage competing demands and deliver quality outcomes.
