Only Local to NC - Java Architect - Durham, NC(Hybrid, 3 days onsite in a week) - 6 Months Contract to Hire - Direct Client

We are looking for a Senior/Principal Architect with 15+ years of overall IT experience and at least 5+ years in an Architecture role.

Must-Have Skills:

Strong hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot

Extensive experience designing Microservices-based architectures

Deep expertise in AWS Cloud

Experience leading technical teams and driving architecture decisions

Strong background in designing scalable, high-performance enterprise applications

Ideal Candidate: A hands-on Architect who can both design solutions and guide engineering

teams, not someone who is only doing high-level architecture. The candidate should have experience defining architecture roadmaps, reviewing designs, mentoring developers, and working closely with business stakeholders.
