POSITION SUMMARY


Purchasing of materials, components, supplies, services, etc. essential to support operations for GSE manufacturer. Ensure that purchases from global supply base are the required quality and quantity, at the most economical cost, and of timely delivery.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

(Other duties may be assigned as needed)


Issue purchase orders according to MRP demand and incoming requisition forms


Analyze MRP demand and adjust orders according to production schedule needs


Update item data settings to improve MRP signals


Coordinate domestic and international transportation


Develop supply base to meet business requirements of OTD, quality, inventory turns, etc.


Prepare and issue RFQ requests, and compare TCO to find best supply chain set up


Challenge vendors quotes and drive cost down ; report cost reductions


Manage vendor warranty claims


Maintain clear and efficient communication with internal and external personnel


Work closely with planning, operations and engineering teams


Establish standards and procedures for continuous improvement


Other duties as designated by department manager


Continuous improvement of technical and supervisory skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

2-4 years of related purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment


Proven negotiation skills


Demonstrated ability to resolve supply chain, inventory, quality, and supplier-related issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment


Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills


Experience with an ERP system (Infor/Baan preferred)


Experience with Microsoft Office Suite


EDUCATION:


Bachelor's Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience


APICS certification preferred

Eau Claire, WI

In office Monday-Friday
