Associate Director - JV Strategy & Investments

JOB DESCRIPTION:-

Role Purpose:

• Associate Director - Strategy & Investments will be responsible for driving governance, financial oversight and enabling strategic decision-making for the India Joint Venture (JVs).
• Role will lead preparation of executive-level board materials, evaluate business plans and financial modelling for the JV Business Plan for India.

Key Responsibilities:

JV Board Meetings & Governance Framework

• Lead the preparation of high-quality board papers and presentations for:
• FMR Board / Strategy Committee (Strat-Com)
• JV Executive Committee (ExCo)
• JV Investment Board (IB)
• JV Project Steering Group (PSG)
• Ensure accurate and concise articulation of the JV Business Plan, Investment proposals, Capex Approvals as per DoA, Financial performance updates and record MoM for key decisions taken in the above meetings.
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders (RMZ & COLT DCS Senior Management, Finance, Asset Management, Legal, etc) for timely submission of presentations for the JV governance meetings.

JV Business Plan review & Strategic Oversight

• Conduct periodic reviews of JV business plans for India along with all stake-holders.
• Provide critical evaluation of strategic assumptions, market outlooks and growth plans for India.
• Challenge and validate business models to ensure alignment with Corporate Strategy and shareholder returns /value creation
• Support leadership in strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.

Financial Performance Monitoring

• Report JV financial performance jointly with Asset Management team to cover below:
• Revenue, EBITDA, Margins, ROI / Yield
• Capex deployment and utilization
• Working capital and Cash flows
• Establish robust KPIs and dashboards to monitor financial and operational performance - jointly with Asset Management and Finance team of the JV.
• Identify key risks, deviations and performance improvement opportunities and report to senior management for corrective actions.

Investment Analysis & Financial Modelling

• Develop and review financial models for:
• Ongoing & any new investments
• Capex for any expansion projects
• Land acquisitions and Financial restructuring
• Conduct detailed analysis of JV Business Case - jointly with Asset Management team including:
• ROI, IRR, NPV, Yield
• Sensitivity and scenario analysis
• Payback periods
• Provide recommendations on investment decisions based on financial viability and strategic fit.

Capex, Budgeting & Cash Flow Oversight

• Review capital expenditure proposals for JVs and related entities and make recommendations to the PSG, Investment Board / Executive Committee / relevant approval forums.
• Evaluate cash flow projections and funding requirements -jointly with JV Finance team.

Stakeholder Management

• Engage with JV Board members, in-Country Leadership and Regional Management across all functions within COLT DCS.
• Present JV Board Papers to EC / IB as & when required.

Qualification & Work Experience

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA (Finance/Strategy), or equivalent qualification.
• 12-15 years of experience in:
• Corporate finance / investment management
• Strategy or business planning
• JV governance / advisory roles

Strong experience in:

• Financial modelling and valuation
• Board-level communication and stakeholder management
• Experience in the data centre industry, asset management, infrastructure investment, or private equity, with exposure to joint ventures and multinational organisations, is highly desirable.
