Job Title: Senior Java Developer (Mainframe Migration)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Java Developer with 15+ years of experience for a long-term contract opportunity in Austin, TX. Candidates with prior experience supporting Texas State or Federal Government agencies will be given preference. This position falls under ITAR regulations, so only candidates on independent visas are eligible.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
• Strong experience with Java, SQL, and Linux.
• Experience using Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket).
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Hands-on experience migrating Mainframe applications to Java.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise applications.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Texas State Government or Federal Government agencies.
• Experience modernizing legacy applications and enterprise migration projects.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.

Note: Local candidates in the Austin, TX area are highly preferred.
