Mechanical Test Engineer with Security Clearance

Mechanical Test Engineer Location: Middletown, RH Job ID: #72617 Pay Range: $57-65 Confidential or higher clearance required What You Will Do: * Perform instrumentation planning and test conduct of all Hardware Tests including vibration, mechanical shock, temperature, altitude, humidity, and structural testing * Dynamic and thermal data acquisition and analysis * Provide test fixture design coordination * Work independently and take ownership of program/project to achieve schedule, financial, and technical goals * Prepare test plans, schedules, test reports, and technical documentation of project work assigned * Work directly with design engineering, structural analysis personnel, manufacturing engineering, and commercial customers * Provide technical expertise to programs as needed * Factory and supplier testing support domestically and internationally * Generate detailed, archival technical reports * Travel to test sites to support test or design discussion (depending on work assignment) * Willingness to travel to domestic Raytheon sites, suppliers, and government facilities Qualifications You Must Have: * Typically requires a Bachelor in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience * Hands-on mechanical aptitude and willingness to work in a lab environment * Confidential or higher clearance required Qualifications We Prefer: * Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. * Experience in Hardware and Environmental Testing (i.e. Dynamic Shock/Vibration, Climatic, Structural) * Experience in one or more of the following areas: Signal processing, data acquisition, field test instrumentation, or structural testing * Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment and independently * Experience with solid modeling CAD tool such as CREO or equivalent * Experience with Matlab * Experience presenting to external customers * Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written * Ability to travel to government and other facilities in support of program activities Benefits provided: 401K, medical, dental, and vision, sick time as applicable to state law Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is an equal opportunity employer.
