Job Description

Our client Scottish Power are seeking a Senior Planning Analyst for an initial 6 month contract role, which would expect to extend further.

This role is based in Glasgow working on a hybrid basis 2-3 days in the office per week.


Job Role


The Senior Planning Analyst is responsible for the development, maintenance, governance, and reporting of integrated project and programme plans supporting the delivery of Ofgem-regulated cyber security requirements. The role will provide planning expertise across multiple cyber security workstreams, ensuring alignment with Network and Information Systems (NIS) Regulations and Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF) requirements.

The post holder will engage with cross functional teams and operational stakeholders to establish robust planning controls, provide performance insights, identify delivery risks, and support reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Schedule Management

Develop, maintain, and govern integrated programme and project plans supporting cyber security regulatory compliance initiatives.
Build and manage detailed plans across multiple workstreams aligned to NIS scope and CAF requirements outlined by Ofgem.
Ensure plans accurately reflect dependencies, milestones, critical paths, resources, deliverables, and regulatory commitments.
Support the development and maintenance of Enhanced Profile delivery plans and associated roadmaps.
Establish planning standards, methodologies, governance processes, and planning assurance activities across the programme.
Facilitate schedule reviews and challenge sessions with delivery teams and workstream leads.


Performance Monitoring and Reporting

Produce accurate and timely schedule analysis, progress reporting, and performance metrics.
Develop dashboards and reporting products providing visibility of programme health, milestone achievement, forecast delivery, and risk exposure.
Conduct schedule health assessments and critical path analysis to identify delivery concerns and opportunities for recovery.
Provide variance analysis and recommendations to support informed decision-making by programme leadership.
Support governance and board reporting requirements.


Stakeholder Engagement

Build strong relationships with programme managers, project managers, cyber security SMEs operational stakeholders, and senior leadership teams.
Act as the planning support across cyber security and regulatory programmes.
Develop integrated plans and resolve cross-functional dependencies.
Provide challenge, support, and coaching to project teams regarding best practice planning and controls.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

Significant experience in planning and project controls within complex programmes.
Experience developing and managing integrated schedules using recognised planning tools (Microsoft Project, ServiceNow or equivalent).
Strong understanding of programme governance, project lifecycle management, and planning best practices.
Experience supporting regulatory, cyber security, technology, infrastructure, or operational programmes.
Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage complex interdependencies across multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leadership teams.
Experience producing executive-level reporting and performance analysis.
Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and reporting capabilities.


Desirable

Knowledge of the UK NIS Regulations and associated cyber security obligations.
Understanding of the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF).
Experience supporting Ofgem or regulated programmes or critical national infrastructure (CNI) environments.
Experience with managing complex programme of portfolio wide plans
