IT Cybersecurity Specialist (NETWORK/INFOSEC) with Security Clearance

Duties

• Gathers infrastructure requirements to design, develop, plan, deploy, and implement solutions within a complex hybrid infrastructure, encompassing both on-premise and multi-classification cloud environments.
• Configures, installs, tests, and maintains network infrastructure devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and their operating systems.
• Monitors network performance and capacity, diagnoses connectivity problems, and applies necessary patches to mitigate security vulnerabilities.
• Integrates new systems into the existing network architecture and provides expert feedback on network design and infrastructure requirements.
• Applies a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and network security measures to protect against malware and cyber threats. Requirements Conditions of employment

Basic Requirements: Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

• Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
• Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. and at least 1 year of qualifying experience.

Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. Experience with with network design, implementing, and maintaining of multi-cloud architectures; analysis, operation, test, evaluation, and maintenance of a wide range of vendor technologies to include but not limited to Juniper, Cisco, and Palo-Alto Routers/Switches/Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, and DNS with Infoblox. • This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system.

• This appointment does not confer eligibility to be non-competitively converted to an appointment in the competitive service.
