Job Description
My client is an Australian technology company developing advanced software-driven systems for complex real-world applications. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a Software Integration Engineer to join a highly collaborative engineering team responsible for delivering innovative software solutions from development through to deployment.
The RoleReporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in developing and integrating software within a complex, multidisciplinary engineering environment. Working closely with Software, Systems, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, you'll help deliver reliable, high-performance solutions that are deployed into customer applications.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing high-quality software using C/C++ within Linux-based environments.
- Designing, integrating and validating software across complex hardware and software platforms.
- Collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
- Debugging, testing and optimising software to ensure reliability and performance.
- Supporting system integration activities throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Contributing to software architecture, technical problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assisting with deployment, commissioning and technical support activities when required.
- Working within Agile development methodologies and contributing to engineering best practice.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years' experience developing software within an embedded or systems engineering environment.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++.
- Experience developing software within Linux environments.
- Experience using Git or other version control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical engineering solutions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Embedded software or systems integration.
- Robotics, industrial automation, automotive, aerospace or other advanced technology industries.
- Communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, SPI or I C.
- Python, Docker, ROS/ROS2 or MATLAB/Simulink.
- Working with complex electro-mechanical products or intelligent systems.
- Customer-facing integration, commissioning or field support.
