Are you an experienced PMO professional, Programme Coordinator or Project Controller who thrives in fast-paced transformation environments?
Smiths Detection is looking for a proactive and highly organised VCP Programme Controller to support one of the most strategically important transformation programmes across the business.
Working within the Portfolio Programme Management Office (PPMO), you'll play a pivotal role in coordinating, tracking and reporting progress across the Value Creation Programme (VCP), a portfolio of initiatives spanning Digital Transformation, Configuration Management, Operating Model improvements and Platforming activities.
This role sits at the heart of the programme, ensuring leaders have clear visibility of milestones, risks, actions, dependencies and benefits, while helping to maintain the governance and reporting discipline needed to deliver successful business transformation.
Why This Role?

You'll work closely with Programme Leads, Portfolio Directors and senior leaders across the organisation, becoming a trusted partner in the successful delivery of key strategic initiatives.
For an ambitious PMO or Project Controls professional, this is an opportunity to gain exposure to enterprise-level transformation programmes and build experience across a broad portfolio of business change activity.

- Tracking programme milestones, actions, risks, issues and dependencies
- Maintaining programme plans, schedules and reporting packs
- Producing dashboards, status reports and executive updates
- Coordinating governance reviews, workshops and steering meetings
- Managing action logs and ensuring follow-up with stakeholders
- Supporting benefit tracking, financial reporting and performance monitoring
- Maintaining SharePoint repositories and programme documentation
- Supporting senior stakeholders with accurate programme information and reporting
- Identifying reporting gaps, data quality issues and emerging delivery risks
- Helping establish and improve programme controls, governance and reporting standards
What We're Looking For
We're interested in candidates who have experience within:
- PMO
- Programme Coordination
- Project Controls

You'll likely have experience:

- Managing RAID logs, action trackers and programme documentation
- Producing reports, dashboards and executive presentations
- Operating within business transformation, change or project delivery environments
Working Arrangements
- UK-based role/hybrid working
- Occasional travel within the UK and Europe may be required
- Previous PMO, Programme Coordinator, Project Controller or Project Support experience
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Excellent organisational and planning abilities
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting and dashboard creation
- Strong PowerPoint and Teams skills
- Experience using SharePoint and document management systems
- Experience tracking risks, issues, actions and programme milestones
- Ability to analyse information and present data clearly
- Confidence working independently and managing competing priorities
Highly Desirable
- Experience supporting transformation or business change programmes
- Exposure to programme governance and portfolio reporting
