Job Description
Design and build a system to enable automated rf-calibration within a dilution refrigerator
Project objectives- Design and build a room-temperature control PCB to drive cryogenic rf-switchesoperatingbetween room temperature tomK.
- Program the embeddedmicrocontroller on thePCBto automate switchingfunctions andimplement an automated rf-calibration procedure to enable calibrated S-parameter measurements to be made across temperature.
- Validate theaccuracy of theautomated calibration systemfrom 4K to basetemperature.
- Design PCB,Programming embedded controller, verificationmeasurements.
- Delivery of design files and software.
- A report / presentation intospecial designconsiderationsmade for cryogenic switch operation andaccuracy of final automated calibration at base temperature, cooling timesetc.
PCB computer aided design, Embedded system programming, rf-measurement,cryogenicsand vacuum systems experience.
About the internshipThe paid internship will be completed onsite at Emergence Quantum, based in Camperdown, Sydney. We are seeking HDR students for this project and we are keen to speak to your university supervisor should you wish to complete this as an industry internship. We are also open to making exceptions for those who are not studying a PhD or Masters.
