Business Analyst - w2 & Local

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Healthcare Business Analyst to act as the vital bridge between our healthcare client's clinical/administrative operations and technical IT teams. You will elicit requirements, map workflows, ensure compliance with healthcare standards, and translate business needs into robust system specifications for Electronic Health Records (EHR), revenue cycle management, or clinical data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

·         Requirements Elicitation: Conduct interviews, workshops, and observation sessions with clinical staff (doctors, nurses), administrative leaders, billing experts, and IT stakeholders to capture comprehensive project needs.

·         Workflow & Process Mapping: Document current-state (as-is) and design future-state (to-be) clinical and operational workflows (e.g., patient registration, clinical documentation, prescription management, or claims adjudication).

·         Regulatory & Compliance Alignment: Ensure all technical and business solutions comply with healthcare regulations, data privacy laws, and security standards (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).

·         System Integration & Interoperability: Collaborate with technical teams on data integration initiatives using healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR.

·         Documentation: Create clear Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), Use Cases, and User Stories with precise acceptance criteria.

·         Data & BI Reporting: Define KPIs and data analytics requirements for clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and financial health (e.g., patient wait times, readmission rates, claims denial rates).

·         UAT & Deployment Support: Plan and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT), write test scenarios, manage issue logs, and assist with end-user training during rollout.

Qualifications & Skills

·         Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

·         Experience: 8–10 years of business analysis experience, specifically within the healthcare, health insurance (payer), or hospital (provider) sector.

·         Healthcare Domain Expertise:

o    Hands-on familiarity with EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts).

o    Strong understanding of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, ICD-10/CPT coding).

o    Knowledge of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), medical billing, or claims processing workflows.

·         Technical Proficiency:

o    Proficiency in SQL for database querying and data validation.

o    Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and process-mapping tools (Visio, Lucidchart, BPMN).

o    Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project tools (Jira, Confluence).

·         Core Competencies: Excellent stakeholder management, conflict resolution, analytical problem-solving, and precise technical writing skills.
