Job Description

Job Title: Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Information Technology

Location: India (Remote)

Availability requirement: Minimum 20-30 hours per week


Required Qualification: Bachelor's/Master's in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.


Required Skills

  • Knowledge of computer science principles and programming fundamentals.
  • Understanding of computational thinking, algorithms, and cybersecurity basics.
  • Familiarity with software development concepts and emerging technologies.
  • Strong subject matter expertise in the assigned career cluster.
  • Experience with curriculum development, instructional design, or educational publishing.
  • Knowledge of state standards, curriculum correlation, and standards mapping.
  • Ability to review instructional materials for technical accuracy and pedagogical effectiveness.
  • Strong analytical, editing, proofreading, quality assurance and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and online collaboration tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and meet project deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality educational content.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review Computer Science curriculum for technical accuracy.
  • Ensure assessments reflect current industry practices.
  • Conduct curriculum correlation review against state and national standards.
  • Perform state standards mapping and alignment verification.
  • Review SBs, coding examples, and programming activities for technical accuracy, pedagogy, and grade-level appropriateness.
  • Review multimedia assets, including images, videos, animations, and interactives, for subject accuracy and instructional effectiveness.
  • Identify content gaps, inconsistencies, and required revisions.
  • Verify assessments, activities, and learning objectives for alignment and rigor.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers, content developers, editors, and media teams.
  • Participate in review meetings, team calls, and project discussions.
  • Ensure high-quality, standards-aligned content prior to final publication.
