Description

SAIC has an opening for a Senior Digital Systems Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical
Assistance (SETA) services to an IC customer. The customer organization we support provides the leading edge technical solutions that support current and future national space systems.

This position will perform Systems Engineering activities required to transform intelligence and military needs
into future capabilities to meet those needs.

This position will provide leading edge systems engineering to include the application of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in the definition of concept of operations, requirements and architecture.

Key duties of this position include (but no limited to):
  • Applies systems engineering, systems modeling, product lifecycle management, and related techniques, tools,
    and methodologies to construct, steward, curate, and leverage end-to-end digital content for client programs.
  • Support the capture of customer needs and development and refinement of requirements, architecture and concept of operations for future systems that will satisfy those needs within a model.
  • Support the development of models of future system that will represent the architecture, concept of operations and requirements.
  • Exercise thought leadership and practical systems engineering application that enables the evolution of repeatable systems engineering approach that uses MBSE principles and practice.
  • Assist in the development of systems engineering requirements and artifacts requires for acquisition documents (Statement of Work, Request for Proposal) and support assessment of proposals.
  • Work across multiple organizations supporting the identification and definition of future space capability needs and the capabilities that will support those need.
  • Coordinate cross-organizational discussions with subject matter experts and stakeholders concerning the development of technical aspects of the system.
  • Identify, understand, track and manage technical and acquisition dependencies.
  • Frequent interactions with government, SETA, FFRDC, external Stakeholders, and development contractors.


Qualifications

Required:
Bachelor's degree in STEM (science, technical, engineering, math) or related discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience; NOTE - Relevant experience is key and will take precedence over years of experience.
Demonstrated skills necessary to use MBSE digital engineering modeling tools to develop, modify and assess architecture models.
Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and architecture frameworks such as Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).
Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Working knowledge of systems engineering.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environment.
DESIRED:
Demonstrated ability to lead teams requiring collaboration, open communication, and willingness to work in a pair-programming style collaborative work environment.
Knowledge of SIGINT collection space systems.
Experience working in a satellite systems program offices or satellite development facility.

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
