Data & IT Support Officer Location: Rotherham Hospice Salary: £25,331 - £30,960 per annum Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm Contract type:
Permanent Closing date: 14th August 2026 Purpose of the Role To support the organisation's effective use of data, systems and technology by maintaining accurate data records, producing reports and insights, and providing first-line IT support to colleagues.
The role will spend approximately 60% of its time supporting data management activities and 40% providing IT support and system administration.
Key Responsibilities Data Management Maintain accurate records across organisational databases and systems.<br />Perform regular data cleansing, validation and quality assurance checks.<br />Produce routine reports, dashboards and performance information.<br />Support departments with data extraction and analysis requests.<br />Develop and maintain data collection processes and procedures.<br />Ensure compliance with GDPR and organisational data governance requirements.<br />Identify trends, anomalies and opportunities for service improvement through data analysis.<br />Support audits and regulatory reporting requirements.<br />Assist with the development and maintenance of KPI reporting.<br />Create and update system documentation and user guides.<br />IT Support Provide first-line support for hardware, software and user issues.<br />Set up new users, devices, accounts and permissions.<br />Troubleshoot common IT problems and escalate complex issues where required.<br />Assist with the management of printers, telephones, mobile devices and peripherals.<br />Support Microsoft 365 applications and user administration.<br />Maintain IT asset registers and equipment inventories.<br />Assist with software updates and system testing.<br />Support meeting room technology and video conferencing systems.<br />Liaise with external IT support providers and vendors.<br />Promote cyber security awareness and good IT practices.<br />Person Specification Essential Experience working with databases, spreadsheets and data management systems.<br />Strong Microsoft Excel skills.<br />Experience producing reports and analysing data.<br />Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.<br />Excellent organisational and administrative skills.<br />Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.<br />Understanding of data protection and confidentiality requirements.<br />Customer-focused approach.<br />Desirable Experience of CRM systems.
