AECOM is seeking Construction Engineer to be based in New York, NY.

  • Under general supervision, performs routine duties and applies sound professional judgment to construction projects. 
  • Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications. 
  • Independently performs walk-downs and inspections of installed commodities to assure conformance with specifications and design. 
  • Performs quantity surveys for tracking and reporting project progress and material inventory. 
  • May provide technical direction to drafters, technicians, and surveyors on project-related tasks. 
  • Monitors compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and contractual requirements throughout all project phases. 
  • Coordinates with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure timely execution and resolution of construction-related issues. 
  • Maintains comprehensive project documentation, including daily reports, inspection records, and correspondence for regulatory and administrative purposes. 
  • Assists in budget tracking, cost analysis, and change order management to support project financial controls. 
  • Participates in site meetings and provides progress updates to project management and client representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS plus two years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent interpersonal communications and collaboration skills, comfortable engaging with residents in a multi-cultural environment, and with tenant and development management, elected representatives, and other stakeholders.
  • 10 years of project or program management oversight experience.
  • Knowledge of procedures and regulations for removing hazardous materials such as lead-based paint, mold and asbestos.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, standards, and building structures.
  • Experience in project scheduling, cost estimating.
  • Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
  • Relocation is not available for this position.
