Senior System Administrator with Security Clearance

LOCATION: Onsite – DLA HDIFC (Battle Creek, MI) SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR – SENIOR Ensures stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections for the CAGE system of applications and capabilities. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and communication links. Organizes and directs the configuration and operation of CAGE information management systems. Analyzes and resolves end user software program and connectivity issues.

Conducts capacity and performance analysis and provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations. Increases system administrator efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develops system administrator procedures, and conducts system administrator training and skills assessment. When required, provides end user training. Provides recommendations on technology direction to align with business vision. Provides local and remote maintenance support to various operational systems deployed at more than one location.

Support includes general maintenance, upgrades, and new installs of servers and applications. Directs the work of other system administrators to provide the day-to-day system administration to include system and resource optimization, and user assistance. Applies advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing applications, and ensuring fault tolerance. Performs vulnerability management.

The Senior System Administrator for this PWS manages, maintains, and secures critical IT infrastructure (servers, networks, storage) within secure environments, focusing on high availability, compliance (STIGs/RMF), automation (scripting), advanced troubleshooting (AD, VMware, Linux/Windows), and providing senior-level support/mentorship, often involving documentation, patching, and responding to incidents to ensure mission readiness.

Key Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to: • System Management & Maintenance: o Install, configure, operate, and maintain servers, storage, and peripherals. o Administer Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, Group Policy (GPO), and Vmware Environments. o Ensure system stability, integrity, and performance for core organizational functions. o Perform hardware and software upgrades and maintenance. • Security & Compliance: o Apply and validate DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure secure configurations. o Implement and manage security controls, patching, and vulnerability remediation. o Participate in Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation and accreditation. o Monitor for security threats and risks, managing firewalls. • Automation & Documentation: o Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), documentation, and network diagrams. , o Automate routine tasks using scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, or Ansible. o Create and maintain OS images for deployment. • Support & Troubleshooting: o Provide advanced, Tier 2/3 technical support, resolving complex incidents. o Monitor system performance (e.g., SCOM) and manage backups/disaster recovery. o Escalate issues and provide detailed reports (DLA INFOSPOTS, SITREPs, AARs) for critical outages. • Leadership & Strategy: o Plan for future hardware/software needs and long-term system requirements. o Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate with military/civilian stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements: • Minimum of five (5) years experience working as system administrator in a Microsoft Windows OS environment. Must hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other relevant technical discipline field of study, as defined by the CAGE Program Office, conferred by a university or college accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Degrees obtained outside the United States must be evaluated by a recognized credential evaluation service to verify equivalence to a U.S. accredited. • At least 10 years of specialized experience. (Specialized experience is defined as progressive experience in the field of Information Processing, where the majority are specialized in numerous specialized Information Processing disciplines involving a range of hardware/software solutions, at least four years of which are concentrated, hand-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software.) • Sensitivity Level: Must possess IT-I Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 5 (T5) at time of proposal submission • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience configuring and managing IBM MQ o Must possess an IBM MQ IBM MQ v9.4 Administrator – Professional, or newer certification or achieve the certification within 6 months of the contract start date or personnel start date. • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience with configuring and managing Windows IIS o Must possess a Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate credential or achieve the credential within 6 months of the contract or personnel start date. • 8140: DoD Approved 8140 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level II o Work Role: 451 - System Administrator - Intermediate o Certification in one or more of the following areas at the time of proposal or submission as a candidate: § Function: System Administrator • Cloud+ - CompTIA Cloud plus • GICSP - Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional • GSEC - GIAC Security Essentials Certification ,• Security+ - CompTIA Security plus
