Security Engineer

job summary:

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Security Engineer to drive critical risk reduction and infrastructure remediation across our public cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform, Azure, and AWS). Working at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, backend networks, and data engineering, you will own the mitigation of identified high-priority security concerns. This role sits within our Cyber Defense group and is vital to securing our large-scale enterprise cloud footprint.

responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute automation or scripting plans to mitigate high-priority security risks in Google Cloud Platform, Azure, and AWS environments.
• Update and maintain infrastructure-as-code within complex, live production Terraform repositories spanning multiple projects.
• Collaborate directly with engineering and infrastructure teams to coordinate the safe rotation of critical cloud secrets.
• Investigate underlying infrastructure setups to remediate the root causes of vulnerabilities and prevent future deployment issues.

qualifications:

5+ years of dedicated Cloud Engineering experience accompanied by a 4-year technical degree or equivalent industry background.

High proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), including 5+ years writing specialized automation pipelines and management scripts.

3+ years of experience writing production-grade Terraform code within extensive enterprise cloud environments.

Deep knowledge of traditional and cloud networking (SDN), alongside foundational components like compute, storage, databases, and Identity & Access Management (IAM).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Multi-cloud experience working directly with AWS or Azure infrastructure platforms.

Familiarity using continuous delivery and infrastructure automation tools like GitHub or Atlantis.

Dedicated background combining core systems engineering with specialized cloud security principles.
