Position Summary

We are seeking a Java Backend Developer with strong Core Java development, debugging, troubleshooting, and application security remediation experience. The role will primarily focus on backend development and BAU support for the client''''s Events Management System.

The ideal candidate will have experience resolving application issues, addressing security vulnerabilities, performing dependency and framework upgrades, and working in a JIRA-driven Agile environment. Some React experience is preferred for UI enhancements.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong Core Java development experience.
• Strong application debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
• Experience with security vulnerability remediation, dependency upgrades, and framework upgrades.
• Backend application development, enhancements, bug fixes, and production/BAU support.
• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Hands-on experience with JIRA, tickets, dashboards, and remediation tracking.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Experience with Oracle DB.
• Understanding of Agile software development methodologies.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, enhance, and support applications using Core Java.
• Provide BAU support for the client''''s Events Management System.
• Troubleshoot application issues and perform detailed root cause analysis.
• Investigate and remediate security vulnerabilities and application security findings.
• Perform dependency, library, and framework upgrades as required.
• Work on JIRA tickets, dashboards, and vulnerability remediation activities.
• Collaborate with development, security, infrastructure, and other cross-functional teams.
• Support application testing, deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
• Implement secure coding practices and contribute to application resiliency.
• Assist with React/UI enhancements when required.
• Monitor application health and support dashboard/alerting activities.
• Maintain proper documentation and ensure security findings are tracked through closure.

Preferred Skills

• React development experience.
• Cloud Foundry experience.
• Application security or vulnerability management experience.
• Experience with monitoring dashboards and automated alerting.
• Knowledge of AI-assisted development tools for improving development and remediation productivity.
• Strong understanding of network protocols.

Education & Experience

• 3+ years of professional software development experience preferred.
• Strong candidates with approximately 2 years of relevant experience may be considered.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an Agile, collaborative development environment.
