Job Description
- Join an innovative digital enablement team within a major Federal Government department, driving the adoption of cutting-edge Microsoft Azure AI technologies and autonomous agent solutions.
- Play a pivotal role in shaping how public sector teams work by designing, building, and scaling secure, high-impact enterprise AI solutions that enhance productivity and decision-making.
- Contract/Engagement: Initial 12-month contract + extension options
- Location & Flexibility: Canberra, ACT (Flexible / Hybrid working options available)
- Design & Deploy: Configure, deploy, and maintain custom Azure AI Foundry agents tailored to agency business needs, including automated summarisation, document drafting, and decision support.
- Systems Integration: Integrate AI agent frameworks with enterprise data repositories and tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Outlook) to extend knowledge base capabilities securely.
- Prompt Engineering & Optimization: Maintain and iterate prompt libraries, workflows, and templates to continuously improve agent relevance, safety, and output quality.
- Change & Adoption: Support change management strategies by developing learning assets, user guides, and leading interactive workshops to drive user onboarding and adoption.
- Governance & Ethics: Ensure all AI configurations comply strictly with ethical AI standards, privacy regulations, security frameworks, and risk reporting protocols.
- Performance Benchmark: Measure and evaluate agent performance against government productivity standards to demonstrate benefits realisation and inform future iterations.
To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring:
- Technical Toolkit: Practical experience with Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI services, generative AI models, prompt engineering, and code development tailored to AI systems.
- Experience: Demonstrated track record in enterprise cloud infrastructure, secure agent configuration, and integrating AI tools with complex digital platforms.
- Core Capabilities: Strong problem-solving abilities paired with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, including experience driving user adoption, training, and change management.
- Ethics & Security: Deep understanding of responsible AI deployment practices, including mitigating bias, ensuring fairness, and adhering to strict privacy controls.
- Qualifications: Tertiary degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications are highly regarded.
- Security Clearance: Due to the nature of this environment, candidates must hold a current Baseline security clearance (or higher).
