Optomechanical Engineer

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in optomechanical engineering, including mechanical design for optical systems, tolerance analysis, and thermal/structural considerations.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, or similar) for 3D modeling and detailed engineering drawings, including GD&T and DFM/DFT practices.
• Experience working with optics and photonics components (lenses, mirrors, sensors, laser modules) and integrating them into mechanical assemblies.
• Background in robotics or automation, with exposure to motion systems, actuators, precision mechanisms, and industrial environments.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping, lab testing, validation, and troubleshooting of optomechanical systems.
• Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and document designs and test results thoroughly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optomechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
• Experience working with suppliers and manufacturing partners, including selection of materials and production processes.
