Automation QA Engineer
Location: Remote Canada
Work Hours: Must be able to support PST hours
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automation QA Engineer to join a Quality Engineering team supporting enterprise digital commerce applications.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in test automation, API testing, backend validation, SQL, and continuous testing within an Agile engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and execute automated test cases for web applications and backend services.
  • Perform API, integration, database, and business workflow testing.
  • Conduct functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
  • Develop and maintain reusable automation scripts and test suites.
  • Execute SQL queries for backend data validation.
  • Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve application defects.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, release activities, and other Agile ceremonies.
  • Support CI/CD automation and continuous testing initiatives.
  • Contribute to automation framework improvements and overall testing standards.
Required Qualifications
  • 7 8+ years of Quality Engineering / Automation Testing experience.
  • Strong hands-on automation testing experience.
  • Strong API testing experience.
  • Good SQL skills.
  • Programming experience with Python or another modern programming language.
  • Experience working with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and support PST business hours.
Preferred Skills
  • Salesforce Commerce or eCommerce experience.
  • OMS / Order Management testing experience.
  • Retail domain experience.
  • Payment systems testing experience.
