Job Description: Senior Lead Software Engineer – Back End (Java, Scala, AWS)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to design, develop, and lead the delivery of scalable, high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Java and Scala, cloud-native development on AWS, and experience leading technical initiatives while mentoring engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and distributed systems.
• Lead the architecture and implementation of cloud-native applications using AWS services.
• Write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code using Java and Scala.
• Drive technical design discussions and establish engineering best practices.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver business solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor engineers to support technical growth.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term improvements.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation, and DevOps practices.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the technology stack.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Scala.
• Hands-on experience building distributed systems and microservices.
• Experience with AWS services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, or similar.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and messaging systems.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
