Systems Engineer/Engineering Manager - Weapons -Contract

Location: MOD Abbey Wood, Bristol / Hybrid approx. 2 days per week onsite
Contract: Until 31 March 2027

Infinity Systems Engineering is looking for an experienced OWE Engineer / Engineering Manager to support a major MOD programme involving the development, integration, test and evaluation of complex and novel weapon systems.

The role will involve defining technical requirements, managing Test, Verification & Validation, assuring supplier technical outputs and supporting engineering and safety activities throughout the programme lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage technical requirements, SRDs and Engineering Management Plans.
  • Lead Test, Verification, Validation and Evaluation activities.
  • Develop and manage ITEAPs and engineering roadmaps.
  • Assure technical data and engineering outputs provided by suppliers.
  • Support the safe delivery of supplier tests and trials in accordance with relevant aviation regulations.
  • Identify technical hazards and contribute to supporting safety artefacts.
  • Work closely with MOD, suppliers, regulators, test organisations and wider programme stakeholders.
Experience Required

We are interested in engineers with experience across:

  • Complex Weapons Development & Integration
  • Test, Trials & Experimentation
  • Systems Engineering / Engineering Management
  • Aviation Regulations / Airworthiness
  • Development and integration of novel systems
  • Supplier and stakeholder management within large defence programmes.

Experience of competitive equipment demonstrations and managing suppliers through initial or full-rate production would be advantageous.

The role will primarily be based at MOD Abbey Wood approximately 2 days per week, with occasional travel to supplier sites, London and UK test ranges. Overseas travel may also be required.

Candidates MUST be UK Nationals and eligible for UK Security Clearance.
