Job Description

Description
We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst to support critical business applications in a fast-paced commodity trading and financial environment in North Dallas, Texas. This position partners with operational stakeholders and technical teams to clarify business needs, improve system-driven processes, and help ensure applications perform reliably. The role is well suited for someone who combines strong analytical thinking with hands-on experience in requirements documentation, testing, and user support across trading, risk, or accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate current operational workflows and uncover opportunities to simplify processes, increase efficiency, and reduce manual effort.
  • Work with business partners and technical teams to elicit, organize, and document functional and system requirements for application enhancements and support needs.
  • Produce and maintain clear process maps, requirements documents, user procedures, and related system documentation
  • Assist with the rollout, optimization, and day-to-day support of business applications tied to trading, risk management, and accounting activities.
  • Design structured test plans and detailed test scenarios to validate system updates, configuration changes, and new functionality.
  • Execute functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing while documenting outcomes and tracking defects to resolution.
  • Research production issues, analyze system behavior and data, and collaborate with technical resources to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Use SQL and related query tools to investigate data issues, confirm results, and support reporting or validation requests.
  • Act as a connector between business stakeholders, developers, quality teams, and other IT groups to keep initiatives aligned and moving forward.
  • Contribute to application upgrades, system integrations, and broader continuous improvement efforts affecting business platforms.

Requirements
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience in business systems analysis, process analysis, software testing, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to map, refine, and document business processes, workflows, and system requirements.
  • Experience supporting and testing enterprise applications in a business-critical environment.
  • Background working with commodity trading and risk management systems and/or financial accounting platforms.
  • Familiarity with commodity, energy, financial, or accounting operations and the systems that support those functions.
  • Working knowledge of SQL or similar database query tools for troubleshooting, data validation, and analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into actionable requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both non-technical stakeholders and technical delivery teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Direct experience supporting or implementing a CTRM platform.
  • Direct experience with 3Rivers / CTRM.
  • Understanding of commodity trading processes, trade lifecycle, risk management, settlements, and accounting.
  • Familiarity with QA methodologies, test management, defect tracking, and user acceptance testing.
