Location: Santa Clara, California / Sunnyvale, California (Onsite) 

 

We''re looking for a Silicon Firmware Validation Engineer to join a cutting-edge team developing next-generation silicon platforms. In this role, you''ll validate high-performance silicon, develop firmware validation solutions, and help ensure reliable, high-quality silicon releases by working closely with hardware, firmware, and software engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate firmware on high-performance silicon platforms throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop, execute, and automate firmware validation test plans and test cases.
  • Debug and analyze firmware, silicon, and system-level issues using hardware/software debugging tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, reproduce, and resolve validation issues.
  • Review system requirements and ensure firmware functionality meets quality and performance expectations.
  • Document test results, validation reports, and root cause analyses.
  • Support silicon bring-up, feature validation, regression testing, and production readiness.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience in Silicon Firmware Validation or Embedded Firmware Validation.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python or Shell.
  • Experience with embedded systems, firmware debugging, and hardware/software integration.
  • Knowledge of silicon bring-up, validation methodologies, and test automation.
  • Familiarity with debugging tools such as JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, or similar hardware tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience validating SoCs, processors, or other high-performance silicon platforms.
  • Knowledge of Linux-based embedded systems and firmware development environments.
  • Exposure to firmware validation frameworks and continuous integration/testing environments.

Education

  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
