Job Description

Project Recruitment Manager

Location: Thurrock initially, office moving to Gravesend in 2027
Working pattern: 4 days office-based, 1 day WFH (1 office day a week in Hertfordshire)

Think Specialist Recruitment are supporting a global business with the recruitment of an experienced Project Recruitment Manager.

This is a great opportunity for a recruiter who knows how to find and attract strong candidates across construction, engineering, infrastructure or other technical/project-led environments, and who enjoys being close to the action rather than working purely from behind a desk.

You'll be the key recruitment contact for the project, working closely with hiring managers and wider HR teams to understand workforce requirements, build effective talent pipelines and deliver quality hires across a range of roles and levels.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing the end-to-end recruitment process, from identifying requirements through to offer and onboarding.
  • Working closely with hiring managers to understand current and future recruitment needs and translate these into effective hiring plans.
  • Sourcing candidates through your own networks, LinkedIn, job boards and other relevant channels.
  • Building talent pipelines for both immediate and future project requirements.
  • Advising and supporting hiring managers on recruitment best practice, selection and assessment.
  • Managing multiple stakeholders and ensuring recruitment activity stays on track.
  • Using recruitment data and metrics to monitor performance and identify opportunities to improve.
  • Supporting a positive and inclusive candidate experience throughout the process.
  • Working collaboratively with the wider recruitment and HR teams based in Hertfordshire.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for a strong, hands-on recruiter who can operate confidently in a busy project environment.

You'll ideally have experience recruiting within construction, engineering, infrastructure, utilities or another technical/industrial sector, with a proven ability to source candidates who aren't always easy to find.

You'll also need:

  • Experience in either agency or internal recruitment - ideally both.
  • Strong sourcing and networking skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to challenge and advise hiring managers.
  • Experience managing multiple vacancies and priorities at once.
  • A good understanding of recruitment processes, employment legislation and inclusive hiring.
  • The ability to use recruitment data and metrics to drive performance.
  • Strong communication skills and a practical, can-do approach.

The important bit

This is a predominantly office-based role, with 4 days per week initially based in Thurrock, before the project moves to a Kent-based office in 2027.

You'll also spend one day a week in Hertfordshire working alongside the wider recruitment team.

For that reason, we're specifically looking for someone already based in Kent or within a realistic commute of the future Kent office, who is comfortable with the initial Thurrock commute.

If you're a recruiter who enjoys working on challenging roles, building relationships with hiring managers and getting stuck into a major infrastructure programme, we'd love to hear from you.
