Cyber Security Engineer

Description
We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to strengthen and support the security of our technology environment in Brookfield, Wisconsin. In this role, you will help safeguard infrastructure, applications, networks, and data by building effective controls, assessing risk, and responding to security concerns. You will work closely with cross-functional technical teams to improve resilience, reduce exposure, and promote practical security standards across daily operations.

Responsibilities

Build, configure, and sustain security measures across cloud platforms, network infrastructure, servers, and endpoint devices. Review security monitoring data, analyze suspicious activity, and investigate alerts generated through enterprise security tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or QRadar. Perform vulnerability reviews, prioritize findings based on risk, and partner with technical teams to drive timely remediation. Contribute to identity and access management efforts by supporting multi-factor authentication, privileged access controls, and role-based permissions.

Take part in incident response activities by assisting with investigation, containment, recovery, and follow-up documentation. Support audit readiness, compliance activities, and the creation or refinement of security policies and standards. Partner with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to embed sound security practices into projects, system changes, and operational processes. Assess emerging security technologies and provide recommendations that improve the organization's overall defensive capabilities.

Create and maintain security procedures, playbooks, and technical documentation to support consistent operations and response efforts. Advise internal teams on security awareness, risk reduction, and practical approaches to protecting systems and information. Requirements
Hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering, including security controls for network, server, endpoint, or cloud environments. Working knowledge of security monitoring and alert investigation using platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, or QRadar.

Familiarity with vulnerability management processes, including assessment, prioritization, and remediation coordination. Experience supporting identity and access management concepts such as multi-factor authentication, privileged access management, and role-based access control. Understanding of incident response practices, including analysis, containment, and recovery support. Knowledge of firewall and network security technologies, including tools such as Check Point or Cisco ASA. Experience with configuration management and maintaining secure technical environments.
