Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (AI/ML Systems) Location: Fort Meade, MD

Security Clearance: TS/SCI with poly Position Overview The selected candidate will support the development and deployment of advanced software solutions within a mission-driven environment. This role focuses on building and integrating full-stack applications that leverage modern artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities to address complex operational requirements.
The position requires close collaboration with technical teams, stakeholders, and end users to deliver scalable, reliable, and user-focused systems. The candidate will be responsible for contributing across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis through deployment and sustainment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications in support of operational objectives
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to translate mission needs into technical solutions
- Support the integration of AI/ML capabilities into existing and emerging systems
- Develop and execute rapid prototypes to evaluate new technologies and approaches
- Conduct user engagement to gather requirements and refine system functionality
- Improve system performance, usability, and workflow efficiency
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including testing, deployment, and maintenance
- Ensure solutions align with security, compliance, and operational standards
- Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and recommend applicable enhancements
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (or additional experience in lieu of degree)
- Demonstrated experience delivering software solutions from concept through production
- Strong ability to work independently and manage competing priorities with minimal oversight
- Experience gathering and incorporating user requirements into system design
- Proficiency in JavaScript and modern web development technologies, including:
- Node.js
- TypeScript
- React or similar frameworks
- Component libraries such as Material UI
- Experience working in Linux-based environments (e.g., Ubuntu, Amazon Linux)
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
- Working knowledge of NoSQL databases, including MongoDB
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git-based platforms)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Java (Spring Boot) and/or Python (Flask)
- Experience supporting cloud-based environments, particularly AWS
- Familiarity with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
- Experience with multimedia or visualization tools (e.g., Blender, Unreal Engine, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and development processes
- Experience with AI-assisted software development tools
- Ability to operate effectively in a mission-focused, fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams
