We are looking for a driven and result-oriented Business Development Manager - Solar B2B / Commercial & Industrial (C&I) to join our Solar team and help us expand our C&I solar business.


Role Overview


The ideal candidate should have strong experience in B2B solar sales, Solar EPC business development, and commercial/industrial client acquisition. This role requires someone who can identify new business opportunities, build relationships with key decision-makers, prepare techno-commercial proposals, and manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation to project closure.


The candidate will work closely with internal engineering, design, and project teams to offer suitable rooftop and ground-mounted solar solutions to commercial and industrial clients.


Key Responsibilities


  • Generate new business opportunities in the Commercial & Industrial solar segment.
  • Acquire clients across manufacturing units, hospitals, educational institutions, hotels, warehouses, corporate offices, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting, lead generation, meetings, proposal sharing, negotiation, and closure.
  • Present rooftop solar, ground-mounted solar, and Solar EPC solutions to potential clients.
  • Prepare and present techno-commercial proposals, ROI analysis, savings reports, and project feasibility inputs.
  • Build strong relationships with CXOs, business owners, plant heads, facility managers, purchase heads, and sustainability teams.
  • Understand client energy requirements and coordinate with engineering teams for site feasibility and solution design.
  • Negotiate commercial terms and work towards achieving monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Maintain CRM records, sales pipeline, follow-ups, forecasts, and business reports.
  • Track market trends, competitor activities, and new opportunities in the C&I solar segment.


Required Skills & Experience


  • 4-6 years of experience in business development or B2B sales.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in C&I Solar Sales is preferred.
  • Prior experience in Solar EPC business development and high-value industrial/commercial sales.
  • Good understanding of rooftop solar, ground-mounted solar, CAPEX, RESCO/OPEX, and Open Access business models.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work with business owners, CXOs, plant heads, and institutional clients.
  • Comfortable with field visits, client meetings, proposal discussions, and revenue ownership.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA will be an added advantage.
