Currently, there is an opening for an experienced calibration & repair technician based in our San Jose, CA headquarters. The employee is primarily responsible for performing calibration and repair and of torque tools and supporting laboratory accreditation activities for our ISO 17025 certified facility.

SUMMARY
Tests, calibrates, and provides basic mechanical and electronic repairs in conformance to established standards and demonstrates familiarity with major functions and use of Mountz products including hand tools, power tools, multipliers and torque measurement equipment.
The employee reports to the Service Lab Manager.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Calibrates advanced systems including high torque load cell method (SARGE), Hybrid / PLC controllers, electronic tools and multipliers.
- Applies advanced troubleshooting techniques to isolate and diagnose equipment problems.
- Renders advanced mechanical and electronic repairs.
- Performs peer review.
- Performs quality control review and signature of calibration certificates.
- Participates in maintaining laboratory standards and equipment.
- Uses MS Word / Excel to record data.
- Participates in technical training sessions with internal and external customers.
- Provides basic support via phone / e-mail to customers and internal departments, as needed.
- Participates in quality management activities such as audits, CAPA, MRB, etc.
- Cross-trained in full scope of lab activities.
- Assists in mentoring new technicians.
- Performs responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintains clean work area and support and participate in health and safety program.
- Participates in maintaining laboratory standards and equipment and in ensuring that San Jose cal lab maintains its ISO17025 certification
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- at least 3-5 years related experience and/or training in repair/calibration lab environment;
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Military PMEL/TMDE experience strongly preferred
- Ability to perform repair work and calibration procedures according to established procedures and timelines/commitments
- Mechanical /technical aptitude
- Experience in ISO-certified lab a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- management experience a plus
