Position Summary

Bridgestone Americas is seeking a Lead Environmental Engineer to lead complex environmental and operational improvement initiatives at its Graniteville, SC facility. This position will manage large-scale projects with significant autonomy, identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, redesign standard operating procedures, and develop operational plans.

The Lead Environmental Engineer will also mentor junior professionals and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement effective, compliant, and sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead large, complex projects and processes with limited managerial oversight.
  • Conduct detailed analyses to identify environmental, operational, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Identify automation opportunities and recommend solutions that improve efficiency and performance.
  • Evaluate and holistically redesign standard operating procedures to address changing operational needs.
  • Develop and implement operational plans for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Translate analytical findings into practical recommendations and measurable improvements.
  • Coach, review, and delegate work to junior-level professionals.
  • Coordinate project activities, priorities, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Build productive relationships with internal departments, external partners, vendors, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Use strong communication and negotiation skills to resolve issues and secure stakeholder alignment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Capabilities

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex projects with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Strong background in detailed process analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Experience identifying and implementing automation opportunities.
  • Proven ability to evaluate and redesign standard operating procedures.
  • Experience developing and executing operational plans.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, review, and delegate work to junior professionals.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to convert analytical findings into sustainable operational improvements.
