Job Description

Job Title: Azure DevOps Engineer
Location: Downers Grove, IL / Quincy, IL (Hybrid – 1-2 days/week onsite preferred)

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure.
Build scalable solutions using Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure Container Registry (ACR).
Develop enterprise applications using C#, .NET Core, Python, Node.js, or Java.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
Design and develop RESTful APIs and integrate applications using Azure API Management (APIM).
Build event-driven and microservices-based applications using:

Azure Service Bus
Event Grid
Event Hubs

Develop and optimize data solutions using:

Azure SQL Database
Cosmos DB
Azure Blob Storage
Azure Queue Storage

Implement secure authentication and authorization using:

Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
OAuth2
OpenID Connect
Managed Identities
Azure Key Vault
RBAC

Collaborate with DevOps teams to build CI/CD pipelines using Harness or GitHub Actions.
Monitor and optimize Azure applications using:

Azure Monitor
Application Insights
Log Analytics

Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, code reviews, and technical discussions.
Troubleshoot production issues and optimize application performance.

Required Skills

5+ years of software development experience.
2+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure development experience.
Strong experience with:

Azure App Service
Azure Functions
Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Azure Container Registry (ACR)

Proficiency in one or more programming languages:

C#
.NET Core
Python
Node.js
Java

Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
Experience with Docker and containerized application deployment.
Strong knowledge of:

Azure SQL Database
Cosmos DB
Azure Storage (Blob, Queue, Table)

Experience building RESTful APIs and API integrations.
Experience with Azure API Management (APIM).
Knowledge of cloud security best practices including:

OAuth2
OpenID Connect
Azure Key Vault
Managed Identities
RBAC

Experience with Git version control and branching strategies.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Microservices Architecture.
Experience with Azure Container Apps.
Experience migrating on-premises applications to Azure PaaS or Serverless architectures.
Experience with Bicep or ARM Templates.
Knowledge of Azure DevOps practices and CI/CD automation.
Microsoft Azure Certifications:

AZ-204: Azure Developer Associate
AZ-305: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
