Non-Functional Test Lead

Non-Functional Test Lead £700/day Inside IR35 | Until March 2027 | Leeds (3 days per week) | ASAP Start The Role We're looking for an experienced Non-Functional Test Lead to join a large-scale enterprise transformation programme, taking ownership of the non-functional testing strategy across multiple workstreams.

You'll lead the Performance Testing and Operations Acceptance Testing (OAT) teams, ensuring the platform is resilient, scalable and ready for production.

This is a key leadership role, working closely with engineering, architecture and delivery teams to drive performance, operational readiness and continuous improvement throughout the programme lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities Define and own the end-to-end non-functional testing strategy across the programme.<br />Lead the Volume &amp; Performance Testing and Operations Acceptance Testing (OAT) teams.<br />Establish performance test plans, scenarios and success criteria aligned to business and technical requirements.<br />Monitor, analyse and report on performance metrics, providing clear recommendations to stakeholders.<br />Drive performance optimisation by identifying bottlenecks and working with engineering teams to resolve issues.<br />Champion resilience testing, including the adoption of chaos engineering practices.<br />Ensure operational readiness through effective OAT planning and execution.<br />Work closely with development, infrastructure and DevOps teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.<br />Produce regular reporting on testing progress, risks, defects and quality metrics.

Skills &amp; Experience Essential Proven experience leading non-functional testing on large-scale enterprise transformation programmes.<br />Strong background in Performance, Volume and Operations Acceptance Testing.<br />Experience defining and implementing performance testing strategies.<br />Hands-on experience with JMeter and/or LoadRunner.<br />Experience monitoring application performance using New Relic.<br />Strong understanding of performance analysis, bottleneck identification and optimisation.<br />Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills.
